Athena Hope-Farnese
This statue of Athena is a Roman copy of a Greek original of the
late 5th century BCE.
The elaborate helmet of the Goddess is inspired by the one of Athena
Parthenos in the Parthenon.
Restored are the arms, animals on the helmet and cheekpieces, and
some aegis snakes.
